Stiff Steering Wheel and Engine knocks while turning on low gears (2007 335xi)

Hi all,

I recently purchased this car and experiencing stiff steering wheel. I gave it to a BMW dealer and got it checked. They said its normal for a permanence type steering wheel and engine knock is standard on low gears as well.
Is this true? Are all the sports package steering wheels suppose to be stiff??

What vehicle have you driven before this? The BMW steering is always heavy. What do you mean by stiff? All BMWs have weighted steering always have. Engine knock? I have no idea what you mean by that but it is never normal for an engine to knock. Post a video with audio about the knocking as I have no clue what you mean knocking in the lower gears...

I had a Nissan Altima before. This is my first BMW. Can the wheel be so heavy I have to use both hands at all times? It feels like I'm driving a car without power steering. Yet I checked for any oil leak. It looks all good.

The engine knock comes when when turning the wheel hard on low gears. Kind of feels like engine being load up too much while turning.

check the steering system. could be a sign of a bad power steering pump.
