Hey guys, I really didn't want to do this, but I'm finally selling my M-Technic. I think every one knows a little about the rarity of the 150 of these they made as special editions in 1994. I really want it to go to a good home where it'll get some time and love.
I'd planned on restoring it and completely getting it up to 100% again, but I got a new job where I'll be driving a lot and need something newer and more efficient. It's got some issues like any 20 year old car does, mostly cosmetic or due to wear, but it runs great. I really want it to go to a good home where it'll get some love to get back to original condition.
-Car has about 190k on the original engine and chassis (instrument cluster went out at one point, hence the approx.) Clutch was replaced in the last 50k, brand new Interstate battery, new main belts, tensioner and radiator, new rear wheel bearing, pads and rotors.
- Set of 4 intact matching original BBS RC 041 wheels that I polished the lips on at one point, though they could use a touch up. Tires are ok, but getting up in miles.
-Body is straight, no accidents, in good shape with some minor paint cracking in a couple spots on the driver's side and 20 years worth of rock chips and minor scrapes, I planned to respray it soon. Front bumper clips have broken from one too many nasty driveways, and lost bumper slats and fog lights. Still have all the M-Technic trim pieces and Motorsport door handles.
-Lowered on Bilstein / H&R sport suspension, that's getting higher in miles and a little noisy, could probably use some new shocks at some point. Supersprint cat-back exhaust, Dinan chip, HID lights and projectors, otherwise stock.
- Interior is in decent shape with some wear on the driver's side bolster, but otherwise seats are in good condition. Headliner is falling (yay, E36), ZHP knob, door panels largely intact though the drivers needs new clips, rear seats/deck faded from sun. Passenger door handle stopped working from outside. Window regulators periodically don't work.
I'll post some more pics of the interior and other shots once I get it detailed this week. Roof rack not included.
Gauging interest at $5000, I have no idea what fair asking value is for these as they so rarely pop up. Open to offers though, the sooner I sell it the better. Obviously local pickup preferred in San Jose.
