A/C compress cuts out at idle

The A/c works great on my 2002 mini, but after about 20-30 seconds at idle the light in the switch starts blinking and it blows warm air. Once you take off the light comes on steady and it blows cold again. Just got the car this week and it has been doing it from the first time I drove it. Don't know if this is normal operation as this is my first experience with a mini.

So far 96 people have read my post, no one has a clue if this is normal operation???

That almost sounds like low voltage. Have you checked the voltage output at idle with the AC running?

I have a r56 mini cooper i wanted to clean out the intake manifold i disconnected a couple of plugs in order to do so i out everything back together and now when press the gad pedal it doesn't accelarate but i push the brakes and the idle revs all the way red line as long as i push the brake back the car goes back into idle but if i let go it revs up again any ideas what could be causing these
