Hello all!

I have a Euro E24 635Csi (01/01-1984) that I'm having ECU(Bosch 0 261 299 011)issues with. It has a very rough idle and misfiring during warm up, but runs ok and strong during normal driving. But when I stop the car and let it rest for 1/2 hour, it runs nice on idle for about 30 sek until it start to idle rough again.
All sensors, spark plugs, cabling, relays and vacuum lines have been changed and tested, fuel pressure also good, so the ECU is the last on the list of things that could be wrong.
I then managed to get hold of another ECU(Bosch 0 261 299 059 that runs fine on another car) that I believed was compatible with mine, but it just starts and then dies after a second. (Don't know if my MAF Bosch 0 280 203 018 could cause compability issues?)
Also tried to hot wire the relays believing it could be a fuel supply issue since it just died straight away, but no luck with that.

BTW, the 011 ECU is going for a refit and test, but would like to have another one in spare as well. If it's not compatible at all with my car, I've then got a fully working 059 ECU for sale:D

Anyone out there who could give me an advice?

Appreciate all relevant input.

Cheers

Ingar

059 is not a suitable replacement. You might be able to use a 008 as it was the same motronic version but with the added O2 circuitry. It would just stay in open loop mode with no feedback from that sensor.

Thanks for the reply alpinacsi!

Question: doesnt the 059 ecu have a different connector than your 011? I was under the impression that it was smaller or something.

The two ECU's looks exactly the same, both chassis and connections. The only visible difference on the outside is that the 011 has a small plastic plug that you can access through in order to adjust the fuel quality and ignition timing switch on the inside.
