Car was painted 10 years ago. Ever since have been dealing with leaky sunroof.... embarrassing have blue tape on the sunroof during winter. Cleaned drains, replaced weatherstripping..... noticed while at junk yard, there is a cross member rain gutter at rear of sunroof. Evidently the paint shop never reinstalled this....F***kers... So I have one to install now, Not sure how to do it. Im thinking I have to disassemble the sunroof and slide from back of rails forward... has anyone had any experience on this or know where I can find a write up. Ive googled it and nothing...

I took my sunroof apart and put it back together a half-dozen times trying to run down why it wasn't working. (Turned out the gear drive in the motor assembly had broken, with the gear broken away at the shaft. Got another one at the junkyard and away it went.) A PO or former mechanic had been in there before, and they too hadn't connected up the rear cross member/gutter. It was still in there - yours might be too - at the very back. It needs to be connected up to two long thin metal pieces that are part of the sunroof headliner frame.

I'm sorry I didn't take a bunch of pictures or draw up a procedure, but you should be able to see how it all goes. Use a parts cup so you don't lose anything, and while you're in there you lube everything with white lithium grease.

Best of luck - it will be a satisfying job when you have it all working properly.
