View Full Version : license plate lights not working, can anyone help me figure this out

i have a '95 525iT and the license plate lights are not working. i tried swapping out bulbs but didn't have any luck with that. i also checked the fuse and that looks to be fine. i also have a bad ccm but i doubt that this is what's causing my license plate lights not to work. any ideas?

Where's the second fuse? I thought there was only one.

It could be the cabling inside of the lid or at the hinges as well.

In the ETM I see fuse 5 and fuse 10.

Willing to bet its the hatch wiring. Check for breaks in the hinges.

What these two said. The hatch harness is a known problem with E34 tourings.
