2008 BMW 323i Disa Problems

My engine light comes on periodically when i punch it early in the morning and its cold out. Today it came on the and the car ran extremely rough so i looked up issue that could be causing this, finding the DISA problems.

So i took it out and everything is in perfect order except i cannot move the flap at all. Is it suppose to be this stiff or is it seized? Don't want to buy a new one if its not broken and i'm just being paranoid.

No it should be stiff, usually when they fail they'll become loose. There should be 2 disas though, did you check both?

No only the one on the drivers side. I guess ill check the other one today, thanks for the info.

I found the other one and its buried under a bunch of stuff so ill get it out when its not raining out ahaha
