I bought a 1980 633csi yesterday. While on my way home the hazard lights came on and there is no way to make them go off without disconnecting the battery. Any help on how to fix this is appreciated.

pull the fuse and take the switch apart the selector tab is bent.. the switches are serviceable. like the defroster

One solution is to cut the spring so that you have less spring force popping the claw out of the track.

fog lights, hazard and rear defrost all can have the same issue. In a pinch: a toothpick can be used to hold the switch in position.

You can also try to unscrew the red hazard button itself and then see if you can get the switch behind it to engage and hold.

Yes, a toothpick is your friend until you can facilitate a repair on the switch.
