I've got the older style brake expansion tank in my E12/Motronic US-spec 1982 633CSi, with a lid that's been glued up instead of replaced. It works, but it's also on my list for replacement. Does anybody know if the ATE lid will drop in, or do I need to just get a whole new expansion tank? The diagrams on realoem.com also aren't clear if the ATE lid uses the same plug configuration, but I'm guessing so. Thanks for any input.

You should be OK. One of my Alfa Spider's has that same reservoir. Just by coincidence, another guy on bigcoupe.com with a later 635 needed a cap, and here's the link I posted there:

Have you ever flushed that brake fluid? Looks gnarly from the reservoir color.

Pretty foul, right? The poor fella sat on a dealer lot for the past year and records indicate it was barely driven the 2-3 years previous to that. I just picked up the car about a month ago and this is the last of the fluids to flush. Steel-braided lines, pads, and fluid are already on order. And new reservoir cap.
