Hello everyone. It's time for me to sell my 1994 Orientblau 540i. The car originally started as a 530i and had an engine swap by a previous owner so it has a 5 speed transmission instead of the 6 speed that came with actual 540's. The engine runs very smoothly and the car has lots of desirable mods. Brembo brakes all around, Magna flow exhaust, m5 style side mirrors, dudmd chip, throwing star rims, and its lowered on h&r springs. Car is rust free but the paint is chipping in a couple areas and there's a small dent above the drivers side wheel well from me going over a bump too fast.

Previous owner did a good job of keeping up with maintenance and I have tried my best to carry the torch. Car has had valve cover gaskets, almost complete cooling system overhaul, spark plug replacement, engine mounts, alternator and slave cylinder all have been replaced under 2,000 miles ago. I have documentation for all of this and documents and spreadsheets for all the maintenance done by the previous owner.

The car does however need new ball joints and a new auxiliary fan and rear rotors. The ball joints will need to be replaced asap but the auxiliary fan is a little bit less pressing of an issue. I have replacement rotors in my possession which I will include. I would not drive the car more then a couple miles in its current condition just to be on the safe side. Once the ball joints are replaced this will be a sweet car I'm just burnt out on it and its starting to stress me out a bit so the car has to go. I also have a bunch of spare parts that will go with the car and six blizzak snow tires in good condition, four of which are mounted on BMW rims.

$2500

All in all I think this is a pretty good deal for someone with a little bit of time and a small amount of mechanical know how.

I'm located in Kalamazoo, MI. Message me for pictures as I'm not sure how to insert them into this post.

Want to update this with some more accurate information. The chasis of this car has around 197,450 miles the engine only has 127,450 miles. I should have taken the time to look at the records from the previous owner to properly calculate engine mileage so I apologize for any confusion. Also, there are only brembos on the front of the car, the rear brakes look stock. I've been driving the car around town a bit and it seems to be doing fine so the control arm situation doesn't seem to be as serious as I originally thought although they obviously still need to be replaced soon.

I've added some pictures of the undercarriage to the photo album linked above, it looks pretty clean with minimal rusting.

And a couple videos:

In the second video you can hear a whirring on acceleration which I believe is coming from the fan clutch.

Yep, and it turns out to be a nice car. Needed all 4 control arms, fan clutch, PS pump, some cosmetic work, front seats and exh work. etc. Installing a 323LSD tomorrow. Runs great. Super happy with the car.

Congrats on the buy, glad it went to somebody who will take care of it. Really wanted to pick it up, just don't want to have it shipped all the way to Jersey/didn't have the time to drive it.
