5 speed swap, do i need to remove my trans harness and computer

I am tackling my 5 speed this weekend, double checking i have everything, and re-re-re-reading post after post about the swap. one quick question that just came up, I know I disable the trans computer by grounding one of the pin, do I/should I remove the trans harness and computer or just leave it alone?

Im in the same boat as you. As for as I know you can. I have driven the car as an auto without the computer. So probably do not need it but I havnt got the car in my possesion to do the electronics yet and can't back up my claims.

I took the computer out but left the harness. If be interested to know what of the harness can be taken out though.
