Hi, I was looking for my BMW colour code by VIN but cannot find one. I searched it in www.bmwvin.com (http://www.bmwvin.com) but here is not specified. So could anyone help me? Website shows that there is available individual data but when I press "SHOW" button, nothing happens. This is what www.bmwvin.com (http://www.bmwvin.com) gives for me:

It says the color right in the read out? Paint looks like this? It's "Mugello Red" apparently

Oops, looks like SONDERLACKIERUNG 490 is a custom color.

no problem to get the paint from a good paint shop. My Buddy also has an Alpina B12 E32 in special Alpina paint. We have a good paint shop nearby, the Meister told us to remove the gas tank flap door as color sample and he mixed the paint exactly based on this sample.

I used this same concept to get some touch up paint mixed for one of my old motorcycles. I brought one of the painted plastics with me to the paint shop, and they used a special gun to "scan" the color, which then told them how and what to mix to get the same color.

there should be more 'individual data' for a special paint car, at the bottom of the options list. That's where the color and any individual interior options are listed.
On the site you're using, you'd typically press "show" where it has the box for 'individual data' but i'm not getting anything when i click that.
I usually use the bmwarchive.org site, but it's not seeming to work for me today.
