Good gauge Andy, I would add: tight but not too tight.

Tighten until they strip, then back off half a turn?

Looked it up just for you bro. Page 240-6 of the Bentley says "transmission to engine torx bolts":
M8 - 21nm - 15ftlbs
M10 - 42nm - 31ftlbs
M12 - 63nm - 46ftlbs

They got put on yesterday and are pretty tight.. was hoping for some more specifics but decided it doesn't matter too much
