E34 trans program problem

Earlier today while my cars cluster started acting up and turned off on me the dash said trans program I'm assuming transmission program, has anybody ever had this issue or can share some knowledge on it? 1995 540i automatic

Drive it and see if it still shifts up and down gears in 'D'. If so, it may just be a spurious message caused by the fault with the cluster. See page 26:

If it shows no selected gear and is in 'limp mode' it could be a disconnected or faulty throttle position sensor. Happened to me a couple weeks ago
