Can't believe I did this!

I was adjusting my BC coilovers on my 2011 328i when I totally stripped the threads on one of the rear lower mounts. Got out the tap and die set and tried to recut the threads, but not enough "meat" left on the stud to get deep thread, so I can't torque the nut correctly.

BC has the part on back order. Anyone have a spare lower mount? If not, any ideas what I can do until I be the new shock mount?

Park it? Does the coil over use a different rear mount that the standard shock mount? Any chance you can share a picture?

It's the bottom of the rear coilover. Different than factory. See pics

A good machine shop might be able to put that in a lathe and turn it down just enough to cut a set of threads for the next size down. Of course you would need a new nut to match your new thread. Worth a try if it will get you back on the road.

Did the next best thing. I found a 9 x1.25 die at Ace Hardware and cut a ne set of threads on the bottom. Couldn't find any 9 x 1.25 nuts, so I went back to Ace and bought the 9x1.25 tap. Then I tapped some 5/16 nut to match the new threads.
