Sunroof Shade Removal

Guys, please help, I cant find anywhere a straight answer, how does one remove the sunroof shade in a 2007 E90 335i Sedan? I have been looking and nothing. If anyone has a write-up or pics, it would be most appreciated.

Do I remove the Sunroof glass?

Do I remove the headliner to access the shade?

What do I do?

You have to remove glass. The shade should have have little tiny about 1/4 inch plastic locks on four corners. Thats all I can remember hope it gets you in the right direction.

Didn't wanna start a new thread for the same question so just wondering, do the rain guards have to be removed first before the sunshade?

��I followed the instruction in the You Tube video, had new fabric glued to the sunroof cover and reinstalled the cover and the glass. However, now when the cover retracts under the headliner along with the sunroof, it will not return to the original position when the sunroof is closed. It stays stuck under the rear headliner area and has to be fished back out each time. Obviously the mechanism that pulls the cover back out is either broken or detached. I can't see anything missing when i peer under there with a light. Any help, ideas or diagrams would be greatly appreciated!

Using the diagram linked, you want to see if your car uses the equivalent to Items 16 & 17. This diagram is to the E46, so the parts to your car should be different, but the point remains, there are plastic glides on the shade that break, causing the shade to not move properly.
