(first things first, been a long while since I've been on the boards. We've moved across country and I have a 99 540iT now. I will have a shark again...)

But, some of you may recall that I once (or maybe twice) asked if anyone remembered anything about a very odd shark that had the front and rear of a E32 grafted onto it. Well, whilst combing through some old archives, I stumbled on the photos I saved. Enjoy and discuss!

Cheers!

Here was my original thread: http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1831129-While-we-are-talking-about-rare-sixers

Here is the original description from the auction:

This vehicle is unique. The base is a E24 635 CSI. It was incorporated by the previous owner, the front and rear of the E32 7 Series in the body and the attachments. In order to optimize the whole nor the M5 E34 bumpers are adapted and outer sills have been installed on E34. This work was carried out with much effort and attention to detail. In 2009 I purchased the vehicle and performed various works. After the body and attachments were processed and painted, brake system and Schalldämper have been revised. I also have the 17 inch rims revised Alpina wheels and tires in size 225/45 R17 94Y 2010 were renewed. Current engine oil service and belts are replaced. The vehicle has received a 2010 H-plates, since the Umabumaßnahmen were considered contemporary. The vehicle is ready and can be visited any time. Since it is part of a collection are always here and there to make even small things. I am happy to give over the phone or by e-mail more information about the condition of this car. It is the opinion of the insurance in state 3 I think that's understandable but increased with little effort. The interior of the M-fire or electric leather sport seats from Recaro is chalking up hard to find and the engine and 5-speed sports transmission function properly.

Pretty unique and awesome, but damn i still think the front shark nose on the e24 is still a thing of beauty.

Wow, an early model even.

Looks interesting, but I have to agree, the E24 nose and tail is much prettier than the E32...

The bumpers look like modified E34 M5 Bumpers. Looks pretty good. The back not so good with the E32 tail lights. Proportionally, E34 Tail lights would have looked better.

It's an E24 with all the good stuff taken off.

I'm with Shapeshifter on the bumper covers being E34, not E32.

What may look and work better would be actual E32 bumpers/bumper covers on a Shark, more like the Euro Shark bumpers, but better aeordynamic smoothing and blending. Otherwise, no other mods to the Shark. This car appears to have had E32 fenders and hood grafted on as well as E34 bumpers, not particularly an improvement, to my eye.

To each his own, as is said.

I would like to see a straight-up side shot, all the side-view pics are fish-eyed at an angle. Hard to tell how bad the extra tail might look (or not).

Funny you post this. I was searching for the pics just yesterday and could only find the gross widebody one. I actually really really like the idea of an E32 coupe, and I think it looks pretty good. The part that doesn't work for me is all the E24 stuff actually... the window profile is a bit too old fashioned for the rest of the body. Same with the chrome door handles. It would be better if it weren't made from an E24. If it had a window profile more like the E31 it would be perfect. I really like the E31, but I don't like the way it looks, if that makes any sense. I think this imaginary car should have been sold as a 1990-1997ish 6 series with the M70 and M60 engines.

P.S. Obviously the window profile is spot on for the more delicate lines of the E24, don't take the as a complaint. You just wouldn't want crawfish ice cream, no matter how much you liked crawfish and ice cream. That said though, I would totally rock this car as-is since I'm definitely not going to build the better version of it that I imagine. It manages to be totally unique without being weird or offensive, and that's pretty unusual for a car.

Why spend all that money to screw up a beautiful body line in the first place?

One way to salvage a vehicle that was involved in a multi car pileup when good original parts are very difficult to find.

It doesn't really work for me in a lot of ways. The exterior really looks...ununified. The interior is just a whole separate car that what the exterior sets you up for. :dunno

If you look at the interior, it actually uses both early and late model parts. This looks to be an early model chassis in fact.

Giving me ideas to convert the m635. And yes the safety yellow on the leads and air box is a winner also.
