In the market for either a 2012/3 328i or the 335i. What's the difference between the 2 and which is more reliable? I kno the 355i has the bigger wheels, dual exhaust, better stereo, 6 turbo instead of 4 turbo. That's about it?? Can get a 12 328i under 50k miles for 21k or a 335i for 25k with the same mileage. Not looking to go fast as I have a vette for that. Want a reliable trouble free cruise car with a bit of style n looks. Opinions plz and known problems with either model

If you don't care about go fast then the 328 because it is cheaper. I just wasn't a fan of the power delivery of the 28 turbo 4. The 335 is much smoother and gas efficiency is not that much better in the 4.

In any case, they are both relatively reliable and should be under warranty still anyways.

Personally after having the 335, the 328 felt like a slug. The gas mileage as someone above mentioned isn't that much worse than the 328, except when you're in high RPMs for a longer period of time.

As for reliability, it's pretty obvious- the 335 has additional turbos to break, the 328 does not. It does not mean yes, turbos will blow up, but it's an added risk in case you're unlucky. They usually last if you take care of them though. Frequent oil changes, let them settle for a little before turning your car off, don't redline when engine isn't warm, etc.

I heard the 4 turbo had issues? Yeah if I get the 335 it wud purely be cause of the stereo wheels n dual tip look. Just not sure that's worth an extra 3k to me

It is imo. The power, the extra features typically in the 335 are worth it. I've had plenty of 328 loaners and I don't think I could deal with them on a day to day basis. Not unless it was a fully loaded one.

I honestly was 24hrs away from buying a 2011 355d. I loved it until I read the horror stories of engine problem due to carbon build up, failed injectors n sensors. Threw the monkey in the works big time so now I'm back looking at the petrol model. I heard the suspension sucks in the newer shape and aren't as much fun to drive as the 08-11?? Yet to test drive the 12 onwards but they def look better then pre 2012
