Well thanks to my DD (designated driver) I need a new clutch for my 540i. Never known someone to burnout a clutch driving a total of 5 miles. Anyways long story, I need to change my clutch and figured do an upgrade from stock. Any suggestions/advice as it will be a first for me on this particular bimmer. Thanks in advance!!!

Is it for the 94 540i? If so: http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1685290-Which-is-the-best-M60-6-speed-clutch

Check this out. Probably the best set up for a 540/6.

I went with an OEM LuK clutch and JBR lightweight single mass flywheel. Been in for about a year now and no issues.

Looking like 2500-3000. Just spent the same amount on my e36 M3 Dinan lightened flywheel and e34 m5 clutch setup. The clutch is haunting me.

I'm thanking to get a stock Sachs clutch kit also but my flywheel is showing some burn marks and some worn-out marks too. Some one tell me that this "dual mass" flywheels cannot be resurfacing. Is that true?? I know the best way to go is getting a new flywheel but since also need to get a new clutch kit and some other parts buyet is alitle tight . some advice will be highly appreciate!!

They are difficult to economically refurbish. New stock dual mass and Sachs is the way to go.

I also went this route with my car when it had the b40/6spd in it. Great combo, no issues.
