Hi everyone,
I just got a re-manufactured compressor for my 91 vert (Seiko-Seiki, bottom one in pic below) and, while it is a perfect fit, I am not sure how I am supposed to wire it. The new compressor has only one wire going to the clutch, while the old one has two extra wires going to a temp sensor(?), which is absent in the new one. I assume I have to connect the single wire going to the clutch with the red/black wire in harness, but what am I supposed to do with the extra wires?

Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Luciano

The temp switch is wire in series before the clutch. So where you used to have a single wire that went straitght to the clutch, that wire now goes to the switch. The other switch wire comes out and then right back into the clutch.

Thank you a lot Richard!!! You THE man

I did connect everything back, and the clutch won't engage. However, there is no freon in the system, so I guess I won't know whether or not the compressor works until the system is fully charged, right? Thanks!

I had luck with my compressor kicking on when I released the first bottle of freon into it. Some people have to jump the pressure switch. It needs pressure in the system to turn on the clutch, but too much will shut it off too.

Exactly. Besides the temp switch, the high/low pressure switch(es) are all in series. If any are open then you won't get the clutch to engage.

Alright, thank you guys!

Update: Got it wired, then got the system vacuumed and filled with R134a. Success! Got cold air! Thank you all!
