I just replaced the starter on my 81 633.After I got everything back together it started right up,but did not want to idle.I checked for vacuum and fuel leaks, but couldn't find any.I think,it's fuel related,so,besides the pressure regulator, the cold start valve, what else could it be.Thanks.

Did you pull the fuel lines? Once I accidentally swapped them and the car didn't run well. Is the TPS adjusted properly? Could it be a loose sensor connection or kinked throttle cable?

It will take time for the ecu to find all of the proper maps once it has been reset. I did a Miller MAF swap a couple weeks ago and it refused to idle above 500rpm for a day or so. Now it is back and smooth as ever.

dwal85008,

You had to install the new chip, that's where the ecu comes in.

Replacing a starter has no connection to ecu info.

I suspect it's something disturbed when installing starter.

Retrace your steps and look for anything that might have

been disturbed during starter install.

Just my guess!!

having the battery unplugged for a few hours will reset the ecu memory.
