the e36 uses a bi polar pwm valve for iac. the ms3 and aem infinity can drive this valve but it requires a little extra wiring. the valve has 3 wires. an open and close winding and a ground. with no power the valve rests in the middle position or part open. the aem infinity has several stepper control outputs that really are not used in the e36.
the housing of the oem icv is a little different. hose barb in and out. does anyone know of a stepper driven icv that has hose type fittings on it? stepper driven means it is usually 4 or 6 wires.
I'd like to use these extra stepper outputs and save the pwm outputs for something else.
