Try this website for Bimrs.com. Click the "locations" link and fill in your zip code. I don't vouch for any of the results but it's supposed to be a list of BMW specialists.

Just used the map function of the site and unfortunately outside of one near downtown, most of the shops are far N/NW burbs. Not really useful for the OP (or me for that matter).

While i haven't used them for service, Elmhurst BMW almost always has the best parts prices of any $tealer in the metro area.
In a pinch i would start there.

Oh wait, if Ben T is still around....

Elmhurst BMW i don't trust, I had 330 , 540 and 740 before and on average every 3 months cars needed major repair work $1000+ I kid you not...all were under extended warranty thank God.

Kottech are awesome just far. Might just stay with them, honest guys...they just did major work on my 7 and I am very happy....but darn it just soo far :P

Euro pro auto. Only ones I've heard decent things about. It's prolly 15-20 min from you. I think they are in Plainfield off Eola.

If you pay someone to do it is just be sure you get receipt for the work done and it's not some Craigslist transaction.
