Going to be looking for a newer bmw in the near future.
Currently have a 2002 325xi with 190k miles. Car runs amazing and I have loved it. But looking to get something newer with less miles.
Wondering what years/models to avoid?
I would like an awd model, standard, coupe.
What are some good recommendations?
What years have the best engines? Least major problems?
Looking to spend around 12k.

12k won't get you much. If you're looking for a coupe it will be a 2007. 12k will only net you a very high mileage e92 328xi.

Also awd standard are unusual and will be difficult if not impossible to source in your price range.
Awd auto is a different matter and should be possible but with high mileage.
Definitely go NA not turbo.

This would be perfect. Wish miles were lower.

All depends on how much PM he has done in the car. I'd rather take a well cared for 130k car than a 80k car that has been beaten on.
Ask him to send you a summary of the maintenance he has done. If it looks ok get a PPI.
You should then be able to talk him down in price. I'd target $8,200.
330 is a nice car and this one looks ok.

It has 4 doors.
It does not have awd. But those snows on dedicated winter wheels are GREAT to have.
It has 130k miles.
It makes me want it anyways at $10k!!!!!!!!!!!

That car seems awfully nice. Wonder how many are out there like that?

Yea I doubt very many. Its rare you find someone who takes very good care of their vehicles.
