Hello everyone! My brother is looking to buy a used bmw from a dealer. We went to two dealerships and nothing tickled our fancy until we went to one a buddy outfit ours just bought a 350z from and low and behold, we found an 08 335i 4 door with 54k on it. Absolutely beautiful. It looks to have m3 wheels with an m3 rear valance. Mint condition. It has a jb4 tune with Jpe dual intake, autowerke bov and charge pipe along with some downpipes. this car screams and my brother is in love with it already. Question is what should I be looking for in a car like this? The dealer is asking 19 and in our area that's what most are going for on average and they all have more miles than this. there are new tires on it and then only damage is some slight curb rash here are there. Any input would be awesome guys. Thanks

Your buying a car from a used car lot for 19k that has aftermarket parts on it at least from what the car lot is telling you. You will not have warranty even if you buy the crap ones they offer they won't cover the important items and if they say they do read the fine print they hate to pay......been there! Why not get a CPO vehicle from a trustworthy dealer and knowing you are covered with a real warranty then invest in the aftermarket parts you want. These cars are not cheap to fix trust me. I see you are in nj I bought mine from freehold BMW and loved everything about the transaction. Might want to look up dealerrater.com site helped me out a lot and made me feel a little bit more comfortable when I agreed on the purchase. Of course just some of my thoughts wish your brother the best on his purchase.

19 is what most people would price that car. But this is a used lot so you can easily get 2 grand off of that price. use the aftermarket stuff against them. since it has the performance upgrades it will be harder to get a warranty to cover if something goes wrong, and it also means the car has probably been driven hard. also, you can go to an actual bmw dealer and get a warranty from them.
