I was wondering if anyone has a used BMW license plate that might have been on the front of their car when they bought it, but then took it off. I am wanting to put one on the front of my car just to cover the plate holder, but I'm not going to pay $40 + for a new one when its just going to get chipped all to crap. If anyone has one in good shape, please let me know how much you want for it. I know that they make different style plates, so I have added a picture below to one like I want.

No offense, but I think those are SO tacky. Either get that bumper strip or nothing. It's like you want everyone to think you've got a BMW or something.

I think the BMW emblems on the trunk and hood let everyone know what I drive. I picked up a license plate last night for free. My aunt had one on her X5 that she took off to have a personalized plate put on the front. I do you see your point though clumpymold, so I may also look into getting the bumper strip. Its just to hold me over a couple more months because I plan on trading my car in for a SLK before the end of the summer.

Thanks to all who replied. :)

Trading your car for an SLK? I sure hope it's a manual. Otherwise, I'd look into getting an M3. ;)

I really like M3s, but I had a '98 SLK230 2 years ago and I really enjoyed the car and miss it a lot. I want a roadster, and there is no comparing a power hardtop convertible to a softops. I'm not a horsepower phene, I just want a car that looks sporty and even with the supercharged 2.3 in the SLK, you are getting almost as much HP as in a Z3. I'm still in college and paying for tuition, books, car, insurance, etc on my own, or I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a E46 M3 hardtop, but that will have to come after graduation. :D I plan on holding out for a 2000+ SLK230 w/AMG sports package and manual transmission, but we'll see. :buttrock

Well, if you're in college now and paying for everything (like I did as well ;) ), then I'd wait until AFTER college AND getting a STABLE job before you drop a chunk into a car. Don't make the same mistake I did (bought a new Audi A4 after college). I hate MB's by the way simply because they're mainly autos. If you could find an SLK in manual, then go for it. The new SLK350 is a 6 speed manual (or 7 speed auto ) with about the same power as the E36 M3. :)

Oh, and what's a "phene"? Or do you mean "fiend". :dunno
