Car will not accept key fob

As I have inserted the key fob in the docking station nothing happens. completely dead the key fob wont even lock in or click i can unlock and lock the car. this happened twice before and on both occasions i reprogrammed the key by holding the unlock button and pressing the lock button 3 times then releasing the buttons. this worked but on this occasion nothing. i unplugged the battery for 30 mins and reconnected but still nothing.

maybe the remote had water damange. if it is not working like that then maybe replacing remote all together and reprogramming the car with a new one should work.
