Looks normal to me. There is a height spec published in the Bentely manual for your car. It would allow you to verify if you are in spec or not and all you need is a tape measure or yard stick. The spring controls the height. So if you have normal tires and whees, and find the car is a little low, then I would look those springs over carefully. The springs sit on rubber isolators at the top of the spring where it meet the strut mount, and the bottom of the spring. They are also known as spring pads. You should look them over and see if the are deteriorated, as that may affect the ride height.

It's normal.
The front wheel well needs more clearance for suspension travel while turning, the rear doesn't need that additional clearance.
Google "stock e90" and look at the images of non-lowered E90s and you'll see they all look that way.

Sorry, I forgot the Bentley manual does not cover the diesel powered models. I think you could go by the spec given for the gasoline powered models as a starting point.

+1
Pick a gas powered model with the same size wheels and it'll get you within spitting distance anyhow. At the very least you will notice that the specs for the front are 30-40mm more than the specs for the rear. So if the front measures 560mm and the rear measures 525mm then you know you're probably fine.
BTW, you're measuring from the lower lip of the wheel, up thru the center of the wheel to the underside of the wheel well lip.
