Hey I recently was involved in an accident and bumped into somebody. I'm pretty bummed out about it and I'm wondering the best course of action and a price range for the fix on my car. Here's a pic of the damage http://i57.tinypic.com/2uxzn8p.jpg Also, the hood is off alignment a little and won't completely close on one side I think because of the bend in the front of the hood. Please tell me what you guys think the price range and what they'll have to do to fix this. Thanks a bunch

Looking at about 500 for bumper and 500 for hood. Give or take some extra if you shop around. Add 50-60 an her labor costs and then painting. Probably a 1500-2000 job.

Dang that's pretty steep the most I wanted to go was $1k. Do you think it's possible to find this price? I'm in Alabama and know of a few repair shops. I shouldn't take it to the dealership should I?

You will need the bumper cover because it is plastic. But the hood can be repaired. No reason to go th the dealer. But having said that, many dealers do not do their own repairs. But they all have access to a repair shop that was trained and certified by BMW to do repairs. This is important especially for painting, because you get proper matching of colors. I would do some sleuthing and see if you can find out who is the factory trained shop in your area. They will give you a proper repair. You have a nice car and it deserves to be repaired properly. By doing so, you will get a lot more enjoyment out of your car.

Sorry that this happened. But don't dwell on it too much, instead focus on the fix and you will come out just fine.

I was in an accident a while back also, The bumber you can buy online. I bought mines for less than 300, just look around. The hood (try to find out if it can be fixed first) do some shopping as well, check junk yards or if anyone is parting on out, maybe craigslist or local auctions (not familiar with your area). If the kidney grills need replacement, you can shop for those, maybe ebay etc. I would also check to see if the brackets on the hood are bent. Rockauto.com is a cool place, they have bumbers, bumber brackets, hood hinges, also ebay or anywere else online. That will be the cheapest route. Then once the parts are found, find the best estimate for paint and installation, if you can install yourself some shops will tidy it all up and youll save some money. But make sure whoever paints knows they stuff, ive had crappy paint jobs, try to see images of peoples work. Ive had a car painted twice and spent more than I expected to because I wanted to go with a cheaper guy. Just a heads up, and good luck !
