I am currently working on a 2007 328i with 78,000 miles on it. It came in with a #2 cylinder misfire. did the basic Dx and came up with a bad coil. As preventative maintenance, my cousin/customer also opted to change the plugs, all coils and valve cover gasket. In doing so, i found that three of the spark plug wells had oil in them( hence the valve cover gasket repair). Well i cleaned out the wells with brake clean, put everything back together, and now it wont start. I have fuel and a spark. My colleague at work says i have washed all the oil from the cylinder walls when cleaning the spark plug wells, which is needed to have compression.his theory, no oil on cylinder walls+ no compression=no start. makes sense, (sort of, but i have never had this problem before). so i have injected oil into each cylinder, many times, but have not had any success. only dtc's are for power at the valvetronic motor P1056. It cranks but won't start. after so many attempts, i have now just changed the oil as it was contaminated with so much fuel. before doing this all over again, i am looking for any input, as Bimmerforums has been very helpful in the past. thank you.
