Hey I just recently bought my 08 335xi (a few weeks ago) and have been doing some general research. I did a quick search nd didn't see anything on this. I came across some posts/threads suggesting an oil catch can (OCC) as a preventative measure in hopes to prolong the engine life. My question is I've seen set ups that cost about $120 or so and universal generic set ups that were about $15. I'm wondering if there is any significant difference in quality or functionality? or is the price basically for looks? any suggestions of good brands or anything is appreciated.

No solid evidence to support this, as I haven't had it on long. But, BMS is one of the best on the market.

I have heard that some are too restrictive or not restrictive enough. Some would probably even argue the validity of even having one installed.

You can find the BMS ones on the forums cheaper than original cost.

Good luck!

Not sure if they will work or not. Seems inevitable you will need to clean the intake. Mine was done at like 37k miles
