Hey guys, sooo i have the n55 and unfortunately an aftermarket bov is not compatible with the n55. However i have heard people saying that an intake can increase the turbo sound...

Pretty much what im after is that beautiful whoosh sound when shifting. With that being said which intake do you guys recommened that will give the best blow off like sound!!

Your replies and suggestions are muchly appreciated:)

I'm not sure about the main differences between the n54 and n55 (just got my car a few weeks ago) but I believe if you get a "charge pipe" a lot of them have a bung that is compatible with aftermarket blow off valves. with a nicer intake you may here a faint whistle type sound where theyare sucking in the air and it will sound better but that's a significantly different sound than the "pshhh" sound of a BOV.

You don't want that, it's BMW not a Subaru

Wasn't my original intent, just my charge pipe failed and I needed a replacement. But, Aktive autoworke has a nice set up that gives you want you're wanting...

The N55 is not compatible with an external BOV. It's essentially built into the turbo already. It's a little more detailed to explain but with the N55 all you will want is an upgraded charge pipe. Get a tune and that will make the turbo more noticeable. For example I run Cobb.

You don't want that, it's BMW not a Subaru correct. I refuse to do that anyways sucking in hot air from the engine compartment. I'll stick to a panel filter and other bolt ons.
