Discovered I have a mix of rims, 3x mounted being RC035 and the
other a RC090. Spare is also RC035.
Anyone know the difference? I don't see any!

Offset and bore I think, possibly.
I have rc090 and rc010 on my car and they are e39 center bore 17x8 et20 and 17x9 et19

Only difference that I seem to remember reading, somewhere, is that the RC090
may be from an E39 but, all the other numbers are the same, bore measures the
same but if I'm not mistaken that rim also says BBS but has a "1" underneath BBS.
Kind of leaves me thinking it's just a newer rim... ?

Then you have 4 that match and a spare that got in the mix somehow.

He said 3 090's, 1 035, and another 035.. Where I come from that's 3 and 2

But I add this for forgiveness.

JCSe34m30;

You're correct, considering what I described originally but, I have to revise that!
I have a staggered set of style 5's and a spare, slipped my mind that the larger
rear rims are RC038's.
Of the other 3 smaller front rims, I am running an RC090 and a RC035. The spare is
also an RC035 but with a bent lip.
Your "forgiveness link" suggested different bore sizes between the RC035/RC090.

I haven't had any issues arise from the different bore size but I think I'll ask anyway;
could the larger bore size cause a problem that I've just been lucky hasn't happened?

All appreciated!

BMW's are hub centric as opposed to lug centric.
Meaning the wheel is centered on the hub by the bore of the wheel being " fitted" to the hub.
Other applications accomplish this with the lug tapers fitting into their seats in the wheel doing the centering.
You can get a horrible shimmy if the wheel has the wrong bore size. You can easily pickup a set of hub centric rings.

"You can get a horrible shimmy if the wheel has the wrong bore size."

Wow! This may be my problem... I had past issues with a 50mph shimmy/shake and since the tires
were near end of life I threw the 15" originals on. Shimmy disappeared! I never got around to
replacing the tires til now and put the 17" style 5's back on the front, test drove, not balanced and
the shimmy was back! I explained earlier that I didn't use BOTH RC035's due to one having a slight
bend in the lip, it had always been the spare.
What you said makes perfect sense and explains my problem!!
At this point I'll re/re the tire from the RC090 rim to the RC035 and see if the shimmey is indeed
caused by the different bore size... Will update!

Again... Thanks for chiming in!

Hubcentric ring on the RC090 made no difference, 50mph shake still with me!
I have to keep in mind that the wheels aren't balanced at all soooo, going to
throw the 15" back on the passenger side where the RC090 is and see if the shake
goes away; telling me it's THAT wheel.. Here we gooo!
.
.
.
Road tested... shake is gone.
Conclusion is iether bent, or simply not balanced RC090?
By eye, I couldn't see a bend...
