Different glove compartment boxes

I'm taking my 525 TDS apart for parts. A lot of stuff I use for my 520i, which I am restoring after sitting for 2,5 years.

I thought to take the glove compartment of the TDS (with the wooden trim) and put it on the 520, but that doesn't work.
The lock on the TDS lid is lower and the 'lock catcher' in the dashboard is different.

Is that because of the trim, the airbag (TDS has, 520 doesn't), or a combination?
Can I get a lid with wooden trim that fits?

You just need to change the 'lock catcher'.

It's because of the trim. I can confirm that, had the same issue. You will need the get the lock catch, just as demetk said.

The lock catchers have a different angle on them. I fitted the TDS (trim) one on the 520i, but no glovebox fit.

I'm pretty sure the airbag vs. Non-airbag glove boxes are physically different.
