My alternator went out before I parked the car for a while. I'm thinking cause coolant prolly got in it.

I grabbed the bosch reman from my spare engine and took it to auto zone they said is was good. So i installed it and it works. Noticed when I shut the car down and remove the key the battery light on dash comes on...but when I turn key to ignition it goes away. And still goes away when the car is on. Shut it down again switch the cylinder to the off position and the bat comes on and stays on even after the car is locked. Also obc stays on and doesn't shut off. What went wrong here?. Is my alternate gone mad or did I burn something up?. I hope it's a easy fix as I have no idea where to start testing. My thoughts is a relay some where in the car. Some guidence would be great

You didn't say what car but in general I have two questions:

1. Did you thoroughly clean the connectors, especially the grounds, on the alternator hookup?

2. Did you check the resting voltage of your battery?

Sorry I thought people check the car section in profiles. I edited my post

The connections looked clean. All I did was wire wheel the alter a bit on the outer shell and pully.

My voltage readings

At rest before alternator install: 9.46v

After alternator install while engine running: 13.7v-14.2v

Bat voltage at rest after alt. Swap. 12.3v

edit:

problem resolved! the little black wire was touched the bigger wire cause the edu to stay on. i notice my icv was buzzing and the main relay stay energized with key off. the so i guess power was back feeding through the other wire. all turns off as normal now. hope i don't have to update this thread again:)
