That first one was still for sale months before I moved from Seattle so there must be something that is deterring people from buying it and makes me think it won't even make it over the mountains. 4 months ago is when I first saw it for sale and it was $6500. It will probably be a project car.

^Makes me wonder what is wrong with it! E34 is probably a "safer" bet. I think parts are easier too find for the e34 and by easier to find I mean getting certain parts from the JY. I rarely see E32s in the yard where I am at.

There is actually a lot of BMWs in junkyards up there. There are 3 Pick-N-Pulls in the area and there are about 10 90s BMWs per yard. I miss that a lot, all the yards around here are filled with domestics.

By me the pickings are slim, Also I don't ever see much E32 stuff like cars/parts on CL much here either.

I would say go with the 7 series since it would be possible to maintain with junk yard parts in the Pacific North West. But just for shits and giggles I wanted to look to see what there was for sale in WA and there are some decent E34. Not a lot of manuals though, which was not the case when I was considering buying it there then move with it or just buy one in OH. Just about every 6 cylinder was a manual when I last looked there 2 months ago.

I'd say both have lots of potential. The E32 seems to be the "safer" bet in my opinion, with regard to reliability. The S50 isn't necessarily a maintenance-heavy engine, but any time a swap has been done, it comes down to how many corners the owner did or didn't cut. I've entertained the idea of an S50 swapped e34 myself, but that 7 series is pretty awesome... 80's luxury racing barge all day.

Yea my favorite style is the e34 the curves just gets me going. I am going to take the s50 to my buddies shop to have it thoroughly inspected. but I really like the e32 aswell, this is going to be a hard choice

True, forgot to factor that in

The E32 has been molested too though. Sounds like he pieced together the tranny swap, flywheel, LSD, etc. from different cars.

This is a wrong question. Test drive each, chat with the owners and come back to report. It's hard to decipher over the internet how each car will perform

I think the s50 is a 95% direct bolt in to the e34

This. It's been for sale forever. Granted, it is in the middle of nowhere but at that price I'd assume people have made the trek to look at it. The E32, well, I'd at least check that one out. A manual 7 series is kind of cool, and if you need the additional space of a 7, something like that would be my pick.

id be less afraid of a molested transmission swap than a molested engine swap. plus the 7 just looks to be in better shape, and i always wanted one lol.
