So I have a silly quick and easy question. Looking online, can't find SOLID confirmation, but pretty confident ish I found the answer.. But still I need some confirmation from the bimmerforum guys

So I bought a used E46. Installing new suspension.

I noticed on the suspension on there (stock, possibly replaced at one time), the tabs on the strut, that the sway endlink goes on, point towards the front of the car.

In a recent picture of some coils for the E46 I saw, that endlink tab goes towards the rear of the car...

But the endlink tab kind of has a pocket, you know? One side is recessed, and one side is flat.

So I'm coming to the conclusion that the suspension on my car currently, is backwards.. front driver suspension is installed on the passenger, and vice versa.

But I'm still stumped on something.

The endlink tab, is recessed on one side and flat on the other.. by the pictures I saw online, that recessed side goes to the outside of the vehicle..

So the suspension on my car, has that recessed side of the endlink tab, on the outside.. Yet, the tab seems to be on the wrong side?

I'm terribly confused on this..

Should I just go ahead and install my new suspension with the tabs pointing towards the car, like it currently is, or towards the rear, like I see in pictures?
Will I run into issues even though the recessed side of the endlink tab is not on the outside?

This is a picture of the Driver side. Left Hand Drive - North America.

So is this installed backwards?
The endlink tab is currently pointing to the front end of the vehicle
