E36 supersprint

Trying to find out if anyone has tried putting an e36 supersprint muffler onto an e34. I put the car up on a lift and it looked like it was going to be really tight. The muffler shop says it will never fit. And obviously I would like to make it fit. Thoughts?

Are you speaking from experience? The muffler shop claims that the body of the muffler wont fit. Im going to take the car back to work and see if i cant make it fit myself.

Actually, I think his suggestion is clear and useful. I have never heard of an E36 catback fitting an E34 (haven't searched, either).

One thought--genuine SS exhausts hold their value almost 100% in the used market, so if need by you can easily sell your E36 unit and purchase an E34 piece.

The rear muffler will work on the e34 but the mid section I don't think so. Rear muffler has to mocked and welded. The tips would look weird a bit on an e34. Maybe weld new tips?.

Where did you get yours from craigslist?

Yes what I meant us use the super sprint mufflers on the OEM pipes the u would have made it into an e34 exhaust.

I had a muffler shop say an e32 won't fit when it's been proven many times to.
