Battery died, 2nd time it happens
First time I left the key in the ignition for about 20 min and it died,

2nd time I was washing the car, keys where not inside car, only thing I did was open and close the door and the side lights would turn on and I have them set for 40sec, I did it about 5x give or take,

My question is, is that enough to kill my battery?

Also when that happen I had 2 coed pop up on my screen,
1) battery low
2) tans malfunction

Is it because of the battery that died?

Need help with this

Time for a new battery.

Yep, and don't forget to register that new battery.

May not be enough to kill a good battery, but plenty enough to kill a bad one. Have the battery tested.

What year is the car? How many miles on it? Battery is the original? Alternator is the original?

Tans malfunction???? E90 throw funky low voltage codes that can be disregarded... Check neg terminal should be date stamped... Replace and register as others mentioned set time date drive bout 2 mile abs/dsc n steering angle lights should clear themselves... Keeping car awake drains battery I.e opening n closing doors

Just had the battery tested and it bad, I need to replace it,

Quoted 380 installed. Any other options on battery? Or has to be bmw dealers only

$380 is typical. For that you get a good oem battery that is properly sized for the space it fits in, and then it gets registered so your car knows it has a new battery.

That being said, was the trans malfunction code because of low voltage on battery?

Wow that's a bargain... That's battery w/reg... Lol my shop charges like 500.$... E90 throw really weird codes when the system reads less than 9v.. Unless u feel it smell it taste it then there's nothing wrong... Do not throw a autozone type battery init that's begging for the lord to smite u down while under w.o.t.... Interstate makes a decent agm kinda pricey.. Research battery reset procedure in forums... Other than that to be safe make a techs day... Battery w/reg. pays tech 1.5fru takes about 40 min start to finish... If he's superman (me) done in 30m double check price make sure battery w/registration

If it was a white battery then it is less expensive than the black battery. That is why I asked about the model year. My 2006 325xi Sportwagon had a white lead acid battery and that is what it got replaced with. My cost came in at around $350, with battery coming from BMW dealer, then indie shop registering it for me for less that $50.
