Has anyone tried seafoaming their 335? I just hit 50k miles and want to clean up any carbon buildup that may be there.

I don't know from personal experience but from what I understand, walnut blasting is the only way to get rid of the carbon buildup on the valves. At 50,000 miles, I'd say its time to address it. I believe it's recommended every 40-50k. BMW will occasionally do it under warranty if you have one otherwise I think it's a $800 job.

I agree. In my experience, I've never seen ANY product that can simply be injected into the fuel system in any manner that works as an adequate substitute for walnut shell blasting.

Especially with the direct injected engines, dumping anything in the tank wont reach the backs of the valves.

Walunt blasting is the only help. Here is a before and after picture. The before picture wasn't the worst cylinder. This was my first time walnut blasting and it was done at 150000km or 93000 miles. The mechanic said mine was the worst so far.

Service rep said carbon build up on the valves and that would be covered under warranty. Picked car up and when it got up to full temp started missing again. They replaced the individual coil and the car ran better then new. Highly recommend doing it every 30-40000 miles
