Just a heads up if you are removing the lower dash panel during electrical work you need to disconnect the battery. I was replacing the dead pedal and heard all the modules in the car turn on and saw a red blinking light at the optical once I disconnected the plug.
Usually I just open the doors and trunk then do minor electrical work after the modules go to sleep. If at any time your remove the lower dash panel you will have to unplug the cover and loop of the MOST port. This will wake up all modules in the car once the optical system sees the open loop.
Also make sure it gets plugged back in or it will prevent the modules from going back to sleep and kill your battery.
