View Full Version : M3 power steering pump on regular E90 2006 325i

Hello, thinking about replacing pump and instead of original LUK-LF30 want to put something more reliable like ZF from M3 model. Just curious if it's compatible ? Maybe just old bracket and good to go ?:)
From these pictures I see that it doesn't look that it's compatible:
M3 version:

You will need to make sure the PS fluid is also compatible. It is not possible to drain all the fluid out of the system without dismantling it entirely. And mixing fluids is a very bad idea.

Fluid is the same. CHF 11s

Some cars use CHF fluid and some cars use ATF. Probably means two different pump and/or rack suppliers. My 2006 325xi Sportwagon calls for CHF. But my 1995 525i used ATF. So worth verifying the fluid requirements as well as physical dimensions.
