And what year is your car etc? It looks like its an 07. Sport package or no? The earlier 335i models had a different set up on the gauge (max temp was lower), so the gauge would read beyond half, but like Manny said it's the actual temp that matters... Also I believe some of the earlier 335i models didn't come with an oil cooler unless you had the sport package.. something to that effect.

+1

for 07 335 sport models were the only ones blessed with an oil inter cooler. And the gauge layout was different also. I believe normal operation range is from 220 thru 250.

It reads normally at 223-240 but most of the time 240, I don't think I seen it at 250 at all, but mostly 240, and yes it has the sport package, it's an 07 335i sedan

Your good to go then brotha. Some have seen temps up to 280 at the track. You always wanna be sure to have a warm up and cool down cycle, before or after spirited driving to protect your turbos.

The xi have an oil cooler as well - prior to 09. I haven't gone past 240-250 without my oil cooler. A limp mode will come in at 280 or 300 degrees I forget which.
