I don't know where they come up with these hp numbers.... Or where they get the idea that a 5-speed is rare.

Oh nevermind - missed that it was an 89 5-speed... That is super rare indeed...

It's one of our members on this board. Been for sale over 6 months and I think it's a killer car. Can't remember the price, but it will hopefully bring a great price at Mecham. Love the look. Maybe it was on bigcoupe?

The car is out of Spokane WA, super car, he really did a lot of work to it, paint, tranny ETC. I would guess the Mecum is outdated, he posted locally that the car was sold.

I think there were 91 5 speed manuals exported to the US in 1989. I had one. That looks mike Burroughs old e24, minus the rs's. If that is his, and it has the same suspension, that's the highest the car will sit, and can lay the frame on the ground.

this is definitely not mikes old car. this was was originally white and wrecked in the front. the PO did a great job on the repaint and repair. There is a thread out there someone on it. I cant remember if he did a 5sp conversion but i am thinking he did. I cant believe the car sold for 22k. just goes to show how people get caught up in auctions.

No disrespect to mike, but i saw his e24 car at vintage years ago, it was a 20 footer. The interior was in bad shape. Mike didnt car about any of that of course... Now it was the lowest e24 i have ever seen, he almost didnt get it into the show and had a tough time getting it on the grass hill where the sharks were that year

I remember Mike's car at Vintage and know it was not this one. I also agree that MIke's was a 20 footer but it was what he wanted. Not an L6 as many say it was as that was only available in '87 for the US market.

But, to see the one in the original post bring 22k is unbelievable.

I read a post somewhere the original owner sold that car for $13-14K? New owner took it to auction and got $22K :beer

Bill.....If you really want to piss George off, say bad things about his blow up doll or his "Mary Kay" pink PT Cruiser.....you know , the one with the green and purple stripes. Someone said he had a drag queen outfit to match.....but I do not believe it.
