I was driving and killed my bmw (manual tans) and when I tried to start it back up it wouldn't start or crank. it just makes a little "hmmmmmm" sound and a little click. prior to this it has been starting kinda rough for the last couple of weeks (still started every try tho) also has been misfiring or something (not reactive right away when I press on the gas) so now its just been sitting for two weeks. has a yellow exclamation mark when I put the key in.

Sticking the key in the ignition and pushing the start button without the clutch will activate accessory mode which will display a yellow exclamation point and check engine light. Be sure you're pushing the clutch all the way down. What you described is exactly what I went through for about a week after having a clutch stop installed, it needed to settle. Even though you've probably already tried that, Hope it's nothing major.

It's really impossible for me to say. Misfiring could be a number of things. Spark plugs, coils, dirty vanos solenoids, carbon buildup. Could just be a bad starter. You'll probably have to get it towed to a shop.

If you have dashboard warning light, then you gonna read error codes with computer, otherwise if there is no warning then it could be the starter.
