Best Rims and tyres for 1986 E23

I'm wanting to find out the best size rims for my E23 and if I can purchase Rims 17" and obtain tyres to match. Any ideas? I'm from Victoria Australia. I have had my car for 4 years.

i have standard rims and will get them reconditioned at some stage.

so directional thoughts on 16 or 17 inch rims?

The smaller and lighter the wheel the smoother it will handle. Don't get big heavy wheels. It really depends if car is lower or stock? Conservatively you could do 17x8" and et around 13-20. 9.5" can fit fine in rear but 8.5" is biggest for front.
