I know that the M-tech wheel is 385mm (roughly 15.1"). I was looking at a 360mm wheel (14" approx.) and was curious if anyone was running the 360 wheel on their e24? If so, what's your thoughts on the smaller wheel. I've had the 360mm wheel on my 2002's and liked it but the '02 factory steering wheel is "quite large" (think bus size).

I have a 365mm Nardi Blackline. That and lowering the steering column about 1/2" was one of the best improvements I have made. IMHO

That's the experience I got when I changed over in the 2002. I've had the Classic in leather on the '02s and thought it looked smart. I've got a Alpina Sport Steering Wheel Leather Black 4 spoke 380MM currently on the 84Euro635 and was thinking about swapping out for http://www.crowderscustomizing.com/Nardi-6061-36-1001-p/nardi_6061.36.1001.htm and maybe putting the Alpina wheel on the M635. The Alpina wheels have gotten a bit pricey now.

I have that exact wheel (360mm nardi) and really enjoy it. The feel, size, and craftsmanship are superb. When you are driving and that is in front of you it just completes the interior.
Additionally similar to what George had stated I found that after I got the wheel I lowered the column a tad, and I raised my seat. The underside of my wrist can comfortably rest on top of the wheel...totally new/better driving position.

Whoa Nellie!
That's what I'm looking for-just a touch of brushed aluminum to offset the interior but still look correct.
Dan, thanks for the pic-

I have the M-Tech (385mm), Alpina (380mm) and the BMW OEM Euro Sport (380mm) steering wheels in the 6ers, and to tell you the truth, I can't feel any dramatic difference with 5mm between the steering wheels. But with something smaller like 360mm, it would be more noticeable. I like the feel of the 380mm wheels, it looks and fits the overall dimension and proportion of the front dash systems. The 360mm wheels may fit better with the E30s. JMHO.

Has anyone has any luck with the 370mm Mtech1 wheels from the e30 m3? I wasnt aware they existed and am not sure if they are coarse or fine, but it seems like a perfect median between a 360mm and 385mm.

Carl the 2 cm is almost imperceptible from a visual stand point, but you do feel it driving...
