Just a quick check in to say hello !! Car is running great, has 248023 miles on it now and still going strong.
Just replaced the PIA brake lights with some very good quality inexpensive after market ones... Glad I finally did it. The OEM brake/taill light assembly is one huge bad engineering choice for longevity. The way the contacts are and the strip is open leaves plenty of room for the one and off again nightmare these care present when it comes to tail lights. I replace the sockets to no avail. you have to take them all apart and clean the metallic strips. This is BS ! LOL So I replaced them with these:
509562
And am very glad I did. They have the standard three wire to socket design and are of decent quality. Takes the same inexpensive bulbs and plugs right into the existing harness,. was a 15 minute job to do and VOILA no more tail light issues.
