Hey fellas. woke up this morning and my car won't start. battery is 100%, went and had it checked just to be sure. all of the lights turn on. But, when I turn key to start, I get no clicking or anything, just silence. could it be my starter that went bad? thanks for any help;

do you hear the fuel pump making and noise before you start? check the fuse... in the trunk, behind the liner, above where the battery is. theres a white box area, with a bunch of fuses in it.

No noise at all. I had my windshield replaced yesterday and hadn't started it since. I'll go check the fuse, now

Checked fuse and all is good. Guess it's gonna have to go to the mechanic.

have you unlocked your OBC so that you can read the battery voltage? (or if you have a meter to read the battery voltage) This could easily solve the mystery if it's a weak battery that is causing the problem. If you unlock the OBC and do a test #09...if the battery is reading under 12V then its time to buy a new one. I had the same happen once so I tried jumping it and it started right up also had the battery checked and they told me it was fine........

When my ignition switch went bad, I could try & start my car 5 times (key turned to start, key off, repeat 5 times) & then it would start on the 6th try. Next time it might be the 1st try, or the 8th try. Replaced the iggy switch & it's been fine since.
Have you tried to start it in Neutral?

No luck, again. It also is making a beeping sound I've never heard before. Kind of like a warning/alarm beeeep beeeep from under dash

Maybe you have a security system issue? I'm not too familiar with BMW security systems, but do you have a second key you could try?

Did you remove the battery to have it tested? If not, I would try a battery nap. Remove the cables for 10 min or so and then touch the cable together for a minute before putting them back on the battery. Make sure the light on the NAV unit has has gone off before doing this. I would then check the start relay to see if it is clicking:

If the key and EWS are in sync, the car should turn over unless iggy switch is bad or battery is weak. If there is an aftermarket alarm installed, all bets are off.
Why was the windshield replaced? Just cracked or were you getting water leaking inside?

Yes, took battery to get checked. It was at 75% so, they put it on charger to get itback to 100%. Windshield was cracked. but, the battery is about 2 1/2 years old
