Window Direction Reversed

My 1998 323 coupe has an odd problem with the passengers side window. When the up switch is pushed it will go down and when the down switch is pushed it will go up! Furthermore, the microswitch in the door latch does works when the window is completely down rather than completely up.

Any ideas?
